Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by an annual 10.06% to 14,318 GWh in the January 1 – April 26 period of 2020, according to data from the country’s Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity exports dropped 20.6% to 2,483 GWh in the period under review, while imports soared 67.6% to 1,618 GWh, data from ESO’s weekly bulletin showed.
Domestic power consumption fell 2.22% to 13,453 GWh.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system grew 21.24% year-on-year to 500 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system rose 15.48% to 684 GWh.
