China’s largest electric vehicle battery maker said it will beef up investment in research and development, especially by adopting more artificial intelligence-driven approaches, on Wednesday.

Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd and a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks ahead of the opening of the annual session of CPPCC, the country’s top political advisory body.

Zeng said, “Over the past few years, we have established a very strong and resilient supply chain and ecosystem.”

“Looking ahead, the company will increase investment in research and development, particularly by applying more artificial intelligence in its operations and products,” he noted.

Zeng said the company will also continue to work together with all global peers to make outstanding contributions to the new energy for mankind.

“We will sell Chinese products to the world, and at the same time promote our technologies and standards globally,” he added.
