ChiNext Index hits record high

China’s ChiNext Index surged 2.63 percent on Wednesday, breaking through 4,037.96 points — its previous record from the 2015 bull market — to set a new all-time high.

The rally extended the index’s strong upward momentum this year, with the ChiNext Index, which tracks China’s Nasdaq-style board for growth enterprises, gaining 26 percent year-to-date to close at 4,038.33 points on Wednesday, underscoring growing investor optimism toward China’s innovation-driven growth sectors and emerging industries.
