Tesla China has dismissed as “untrue” recent media reports that the company is considering selling or spinning off its China operations to facilitate a potential merger with SpaceX.
The reports, which cited unnamed sources, suggested the plan remained at an early stage and subject to change.
In response, Tesla China insiders said on Friday that the information is false, but declined to elaborate.
The denial comes amid heightened speculation over Tesla’s strategic direction in its largest overseas market.
