Expert: China could consider consumption vouchers in the services sector


Jiang Zhao, associate researcher at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, said during an exclusive interview with China Perspectives that the consumer goods trade-in policy has significantly boosted the growth of goods consumption. In the future, promoting service consumption through the distribution of consumption subsidies could serve as a key policy lever. However, it is also important to note that subsidies for service consumption entail substantial funding and pose high regulatory challenges, which requires careful consideration.
