Dolby Laboratories showcased its latest achievements in in-car entertainment at Auto Shanghai 2025 on Wednesday.

It has collaborated with multiple automakers and industry partners to advance the application of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in smart cabins, promoting the transformation of cars from transportation tools into diversified mobile living spaces.

To date, the number of automakers supporting Dolby experiences exceeds 25, doubled from 2024. During the auto show, brands such as Li Auto, ZEEKR, Wey, ONVO, Changan Mazda, and Cadillac unveiled new models featuring Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos, expanding the footprint of Dolby technology in the automotive sector.

“Chinese consumers truly care about entertainment quality,” said Javier Foncillas, vice-president of commercial partnerships and global sales at Dolby Laboratories.

“We are committed to further collaborating with partners in automotive and streaming services to bring diverse entertainment options to car owners with the same high quality as they experience at home or on the go,” he added.

For the first time at the auto show, Dolby introduced its dedicated experience space, the Dolby House. It also released survey data showing that 97 percent of Chinese car owners are aware of Dolby technology, while 90 percent of prospective car buyers have expressed interest in models equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Tang Jing, president of flagship products at Li Auto, stated that the company is committed to transforming vehicles into “concert halls on wheels” and “cinemas on wheels”, enhancing in-car audiovisual experiences through collaboration with QQ Music and Dolby technology.

Additionally, Liu Xiankai, vice-president of Tencent Music Entertainment Group, noted that QQ Music will continue to deepen its cooperation with Dolby and Li Auto to drive innovation in smart cabin music experiences.

Dolby said it will continue to expand partnerships with automakers, content platforms, and technology partners to promote the adoption and advancement of immersive entertainment experiences in smart cabins.
