Pilot project to unify real estate registration

  • by

A unified system on real estate registration has been launched across several cities as a pilot project, China Securities Journal reported on Tuesday. The program will be expanded in the course of next year.

The main focus this year will fall on setting up and integrating registration bureaus. The Land and Mineral Resources Legislative Affairs Center, renamed the Real Estate Registration Center, will be responsible for real estate registration policies, relevant services, and technical support.

Except for state-owned land rights and real estate ownership, the rights to farmland, grasslands, forests, and seas must be registered, according to the rules.

Ministry of Land and Resources authorities will establish a unified information platform for real estate registration, so that interested parties couldaccess relevant information, it was added.

Real estate registration is a foundation of China’s land reform, according to Ministry personnel. The proposed unified real estate registration system provides a necessary step towards building an open and transparent national property information platform. It is believed that it would have a positive effect on controlling and managing real estate.
