Winners of “Taste of China” were awarded at a special ceremony in Sofia on Monday.
More than 10,000 people participated in the contest, jointly organized by China Radio International and Confucius Institute in Sofia on the occasion of 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria.
Top 30 Bulgarians from all over the country who participated in categories such as “Masters with matches” and “Masters of the sword”, were awarded during the ceremony held in ManFuYuen, one of the largest Chinese restaurants in Bulgaria, which was co-organizer of the competition.
In Yali, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, said at the ceremony that the competition puts wonderful point of a series of events, celebrated friendship between Beijing and Sofia.
He said that Chinese cuisine is one of the most important parts of Chinese culture, and believes that through this contest participants have acquired a deep knowledge of Chinese cuisine and traditional Chinese culture as a whole.
