State plans to reduce by 14% port dues paying cruise ships landing at Bulgarian ports. The intention is to attract more cruise ships in the next years which to stop at ports in Varna, Burgas and Nessebar. This is a proposal of the Ministry of Transport. The fees are collected by the state enterprise “Port Infrastructure”.

In world practice in recent years there has been increased competition in passenger transport and the organisation of cruise travel. The concrete proposal is related to an amendment of the coefficient of reduction of tonnage tax for passenger ships from 0.5 to 0.4.
