China records 4.7% GDP growth in H1 2026

China’s gross domestic product expanded by 4.7 percent to reach 69.57 trillion yuan in the first half of 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.

China’s value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, rose 5.4 percent year-on-year in Jan-June period, the bureau said.

China’s retail sales increased 1.3 percent year-on-year to 24.87 trillion yuan in the first half.
